Boris Thinks I’m Funny
J.P. Robideaux’s third novel, Boris Thinks I’m Funny, documents the comical, fictional story of a unique collaboration between the American and Russian governments during one of Russia’s most troubling times in the 1990s. After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the disintegration of the USSR, the two countries work together to hide President Boris Yeltsin in the unlikely town of Spokane, WA to avoid assassination. Along with his bodyguard, he is tucked away in suburban America, under federal protection, until the chaos in Russia is resolved and he can return to power. Boris ultimately befriends a bored civic government employee dabbling in standup comedy who leads him through a series of comedic mishaps and intrigue that eventually brings the threat of geopolitical assassins.
